§ 15-13. Handicapped parking penalty.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle other than one bearing a license plate for the mobility impaired or one which a parking card issued to a mobility impaired driver as provided under LSA-R.S. 47:463.4 in an area either publicly owned or privately owned which has been designated and has been reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles bearing license plates issued to mobility impaired drivers or bearing parking cards issued to mobility impaired drivers. Any person or persons who violates the provisions of this section shall be fined a sum not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00), and in addition, shall be required to pay the towing fee and any storage costs which might be incurred in the removal of the car which has been unlawfully parked in a mobility impaired designated parking space.
