§ 20-240. Created; boundaries.

  • Acting under the authority of Part 1, Chapter 6, Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, and other constitutional and statutory authority supplemental thereto, there be and there is hereby created a drainage district within the Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana, which shall comprise and embrace all of the lands within the following boundaries, to wit:

    Lands contained within the boundaries of the Town and Country Drainage District, a levee and pump district, consisting of portions of Sections 8, 9, 42 and 43, Township 18 North, Range 4 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, said bounds being more particularly described as follows:

    Beginning at the corner common to Sections 8, 9 and 42, thence northerly along the line between Sections 8 and 9, a distance of 1,607 feet, more or less, to the North boundary of the Town and Country Subdivision; thence easterly along North boundary of subdivision to the line between Lots 50 and 51, Block 5; thence southerly along line between said Lots 51 and 50 to the center line of Oakland Drive; thence westerly and southerly along center line of Oakland Drive to the prolongation of the line between Lots 56 and 57, Block 5; thence along line between Lots 56 and 57, and Lots 68 and 67 and prolongation to center line of Ridgewood Drive; thence easterly along center line of Ridgewood Drive to center line of Holiday Drive; thence southerly along center line of Holiday Drive to the prolongation of the line between Lots 24 and 25, Block 4; thence easterly along the line between Lots 24 and 25 to the eastern boundary of the subdivision which is the western right-of-way line of the A & L M Railroad; thence southerly along said railroad right-of-way line a distance of 810 feet, more or less, to the line between Sections 9 and 42; thence continuing along the railroad right-of-way line a distance of 3,507 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner of the subdivision; thence westerly along the South boundary of the subdivision a distance of 1,011 feet, more or less, to the eastern right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 165; thence northerly along said highway right-of-way line a distance of 3,469 feet, more or less, to a point on the prolongation of the line between Sections 42 and 8; and thence easterly along the prolongation of and the line between Sections 42 and 8, a distance of 853 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
