§ 20-231. Meetings of board; creation and filling of vacancies; per diem established.

  • The commissioners of the district may meet as often as necessary, but shall meet at least once every sixty (60) days. The absence of a commissioner from any four (4) consecutive meetings shall be deemed as a vacancy and it shall be filled by the police jury if the commissioner had been appointed by the police jury. The members of the board of commissioners shall each receive a per diem of sixty dollars ($60.00) for each meeting they attend, but shall not be paid for more than twenty-four (24) regular and twelve (12) special meetings in each year. They shall be paid out of the district funds in the hands of the treasurer.
