§ 21-57. Storm sewers.
Storm sewers may be used to collect and convey drainage waters from, across and through street rights-of-way, parking lots and other facilities requiring removal of stormwater. Storm sewers shall be designed in accordance with the applicable provisions of this article and the following additional requirements:
(1)
The minimum pipe size for storm sewers shall be fifteen (15) inches in diameter or the equivalent sized elliptical pipe or pipe arch.
(2)
For all pipes thirty (30) inches in diameter or less, storm sewers shall be designed and constructed to provide a mean velocity when flowing full of not less than two (2) feet per second (fps).
(3)
Pipe fittings or junction boxes shall be required at all pipe intersections and at all changes in horizontal or vertical pipe alignment.
(4)
Appropriately sized inlets, screened with grates or other methods of preventing debris from entering the system, shall be spaced in accordance with section 21-53
