§ 2-10. Same—Requirements; stamping, submitting to officers for investigation, submitting to council.
(a)
All applications for new or renewal licenses shall be in writing, shall be sworn to before an officer authorized to administer oaths, and shall contain the information and shall be accompanied by the documents set forth and detailed in section 2-12
(b)
The office of the executive secretary-treasurer shall immediately stamp upon each application the year, month and day on which it was received and shall verify that the applicant, and/or any person required to have the same qualifications of the applicant and/or the predecessor in business of such applicant or other person, is not delinquent in the payment or remittance of any
sales, use, occupational or other tax, license, fee, etc., due the parish.
(c)
The executive secretary-treasurer, if she finds that no delinquency exists, shall deliver the application to the attorney for the police jury for appropriate approval. The attorney shall cause an investigation of the applicant and of his character and reputation to be made. If the applicant is a partnership, an investigation as to the character and reputation of each member thereof shall be conducted. If the applicant is a corporation, the same shall be conducted. When the investigation is completed, a written statement of the result thereof shall be made and filed with the executive secretary-treasurer's office, who shall in turn submit the same to the police jury.
