§ 2-25. Requirement to display sign; fetal alcohol syndrome.
(a)
Each person holding a license under the provisions of this chapter shall post and display in a conspicuous place on each licensed premises a sign which shall clearly read as follows, to-wit
"WARNING: Drinking alcoholic beverage during pregnancy may cause severe physical or mental birth defects."
(b)
Signs required to be posted or displayed herein shall not be less than eight (8) inches by ten (10) inches, with letters not less than three-eighths of an inch in height. Said signs must be substantially similar in design and color as the sample attached to this section, by reference, and available for inspection at the office of the secretary-treasurer of the police jury.
(c)
The Parish of Ouachita may make such warning signs available to licensees under this chapter.
(d)
Any licensee or permittee who shall violate the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) upon the first conviction and not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) upon the second and subsequent convictions. In the case of a corporation, the officer or agent in and upon conviction may be punished as provided above.
