§ 3-27. Procedure to follow in handling cases dealing with dead animals.

Call from any law enforcement agency (state police, city police, sheriff, etc.). We expect to continue to accept the call and give our cooperation where an animal has been killed and the meat is usable, our range rider will transport animal to place designated by the enforcement agency and register animal in the name of said agency, our duty ending. The animal to be disposed of by said agency.

If animal is not usable, range rider to help clear highway and the animal to be disposed of by the enforcement agency making call.

If animal reported in highway by citizen. Our range rider to take animal (if usable) to freezer locker and register same in name of Ouachita Parish Police Jury and the disposition of it to be decided by stock law committee. If not usable it will be cleared off highway (no hazard) and call rendering plant and same will pick up.
