§ 7-33. Mer Rouge Gas Co., Inc.
(1)
The right is hereby given to Mer Rouge Gas Company, Inc., its successors and assigns, hereinafter called "grantee" to lay, erect, construct, replace, relocate, renew, maintain, operate, and change the sizes of and remove pipe lines for the transmission of natural gas and all equipment and appurtenances in connection therewith, including gas conditioners, gas meters and regulators over, through, upon, under and across any and all roadways, highways, streets, or rights-of-way thereon, and any public lands and places, and any rivers, lakes, streams, waters, waterbeds or water courses in said parish over which the police jury has jurisdiction.

Grantee shall duly comply with all laws, rules, regulations and specifications of any duly authorized regulatory body of the State of Louisiana or of the United States that may be applicable in the exercise of this grant. Further, in the exercise of this grant, the grantee shall not cut the surface or any asphalt, concrete, or blacktop road; but any installation of any pipe line by grantee across any asphalt, concrete or blacktop road shall be subterranean beneath such road surface.

Grantee shall promptly repair, at its expense any damage caused by virtue of the exercise of its privilege under this grant, and the said grantee shall be liable for damages to persons or property arising out of the negligence of itself, its agents, servants or employees.
(4)
Grantee shall have the right to assign its rights hereunder to any assignee, which shall be subject to the obligations herein imposed on the grantee.
