§ 12-7. Depository and reference library for parish documents.
(a)
Documents to be provided. The Ouachita Parish public library, through the reference department, is hereby designated as a depository and reference library for parish documents hereinafter identified. The head of each parish department, board, commission and committee shall promptly send or deliver to the Ouachita Parish public library, as soon as printed or otherwise reproduced, at the expense of the parish two (2) copies of each annual report, special study, consultant report, newsletter, brochure or other document intended for public distribution. Such reports shall be preserved for the use of the police jury, parish officials and employees and the general public.
(b)
Exemption from requirements. Any department, board, commission or committee which concludes that compliance with the requirements of this section shall produce a hardship may request an exemption from the police jury. Requests for exemption shall be addressed to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury and granted by the Ouachita Parish Police Jury.
(c)
Conflict with clerk's duties. Nothing in this section shall be construed to conflict with the duties of the clerk of court as set forth in the Louisiana Statutes or elsewhere in parish ordinances.
