§ 12-6. Special tax.

  • (a)

    Acting under the authority of a special election held in the Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana, on Tuesday, April 17, 1962, a special tax of one and one-half (1½) mills on the dollar of the assessed valuation of all the taxable property in said parish is hereby levied, assessed and imposed on all of said property for a period of ten (10) years beginning with the year 1962, for the purpose of the maintenance and support of the public library of said parish and its branches.

    (b)

    The proper administrative officers of the Parish of Ouachita, Louisiana, are hereby empowered, authorized and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said parish for the ten (10) years beginning with the year 1962, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of said parish according to law, and the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all the property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and the collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
