§ 13-31. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:

    (1)

    Charitable organization. A nonprofit veterans, eleemosynary, benevolent, educational, religious, fraternal, or civic and service association or corporation domiciled in this state. Any such organization or corporation shall have qualified with the United States Internal Revenue Service for an exemption from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)(3), (4), (8), or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code.

    (2)

    Commercial lessor. Any person or other entity other than a bona fide nonprofit organization licensed under this article, who leases any building, structure or premises to organizations licensed under the provisions of this article.

    (3)

    Distributor. Any person or other entity who sells or offers for sale or otherwise furnishes any person supplies or equipment for use in the conduct of any game of chance authorized under this article.

    (4)

    Manufacturer. Any person or other entity who manufactures for sale, offers for sale, or otherwise furnishes any gaming supplies or equipment for use in the conduct of any game of chance authorized under this article.
