§ 14-24. Special load limits.

  • (a)

    The following load limits shall comply to those streets which are enumerated in subsection (b), below:

    (1)

    Total gross weight of any single-axle attached to any vehicle and equipped with low-pressure pneumatic tires shall not exceed fourteen thousand five hundred (14,500) pounds;

    (2)

    The total gross weight of any tandem-axle attached to any vehicle and equipped with low-pressure pneumatic tires shall not exceed twenty-six thousand (26,000) pounds;

    (3)

    The total gross weight of any tridrum-axle attached to any vehicle and equipped with low-pressure and pneumatic tires shall not exceed thirty-seven thousand five hundred (37,500) pounds.

    (b)

    The maximum axle weights set forth in subsection (a) above, shall apply to the following streets, to wit:

    (1)

    Northwood Drive (concrete portion);

    (2)

    White Oak Drive;

    (3)

    Pecan Drive;

    (4)

    Bluff Drive;

    (5)

    Deer Trail.

    (c)

    Violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a term of imprisonment of not more than thirty (30) days in the parish jail, or a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or both.
