(Res. of 7-14-80; Ord. No. 8122, 8-15-88)
Editor's note
Ord. No. 8122, adopted August 15, 1988, repealed former § 1-8 in its entirety. Former § 1-8 was concerned with a tourism promotion agency, and derived from Res. of 7-20-70 which originally designated the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Inc. as the tourist promotion agency, but on substitute motion, which was adopted, designated the North Delta Economic Development District Council as tourist promotion agency. Ord. No. 7491, adopted May 10, 1976, added provisions codified herein as § 23-16 et seq., relating to the creation of a tourist commission. Said ordinance, as amended by Res. of 7-12-76, provided that the commission would be known as the "tourist promotion agency," thus being in apparent conflict with § 1-8. Nevertheless, § 19 of Ord. No. 7491 provided that the ordinance should "not be construed as affecting the authority of any existing tourist commission having jurisdiction over the Parish of Ouachita, but shall be construed as supplemental."
