Chapter 1. ADMINISTRATION |
Article II. PERSONNEL POLICIES |
Division 2. EMPLOYEE PLACEMENT |
§ 1-64. Transfer.
(a)
A transfer may be defined as the movement of an employee from one position to another where there is no change in level of responsibility or salary range. Generally, such transfers will be made from one job to a similar job in a different geographical region of the parish, or to a different work crew.
(b)
Request for such transfers may be made by employees, or the department head may feel that such a transfer is in the best interest of both the employee and employer. Transfers between classes or departments shall be subject to approval by the personnel director.
(c)
A written request by an employee to be transferred to another work crew will be granted at the discretion of the department head. In all cases, the needs of the employer (personnel needed, availability of work, skill requirements, etc.) will determine if such a request is granted. The needs of the employer take priority over the wishes of the employee in such matters.
(d)
An employee being laterally transferred shall ordinarily continue to receive the same salary and shall retain the same eligibility date for pay increases.
