Article III. BUILDING PERMITS |
§ 3½-62. Application for permit.
(a)
All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by the following:
(1)
Legal description of the property upon which the permit is to be issued.
(2)
A vicinity map showing the location of the property for which the permit is being applied for.
(3)
A permit from the Ouachita Parish health department for sanitary facilities and water supply.
(4)
For all property located in or in close proximity to flood-prone zones a statement of certification of property elevation mean sea level, and elevation of projecting one-hundred-year floodwater level. This certificate must be prepared and signed by a registered civil engineer or licensed land surveyor.
(5)
Proof that a majority of the property owners and the police jury have been notified of the proposed construction of any multifamily dwelling. Such notification and proof thereof shall be by means of registered mail. Applicants shall also provide certification of the availability of adequate utility facilities. Within five (5) days after compliance with these requirements, a building permit shall be issued or denied.
(6)
A legal description of said property and a vicinity map will be presented.
(b)
The office of the parish engineer shall receive all applications of building permits herein provided for and shall collect fees as provided in subsection (c).

The public works department shall, prior to issuance of any building permit, ensure that such proposed construction does not violate any subdivision restrictions on file in the clerk of the court's office, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.
