§ 8-30. Types of collection; permits required in certain cases.

(a)

Private: This article shall in no way prohibit the occupants of private homes from collecting, conveying, or disposing of, in an approved manner, the solid waste generated by such private home.

(b)

Commercial or industrial: This article shall regulate commercial or industrial enterprises collecting, conveying, or disposing of solid waste generated in the conduction of business as follows:

(1)

A permit must be obtained for each vehicle utilized for conveying waste to a sanitary landfill. Such permit is obtained by applying for same at the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, District Office.

(2)

The company name and permit number shall be permanently and conspicuously affixed to both sides of the vehicle.

(c)

Franchise agents: Application for a franchise and an occupational license shall be made to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury and shall include the name of the company, owner of the company, legal address of the company, and description of all vehicles.
