§ 9-7. Permits for sewerage and installation.

(a)

No person or persons shall engage in the business or practice of emptying or cleaning septic tanks, cesspools, vaults or similar facilities without first obtaining a written permit to operate from the state health officer or his duly authorized representative (Ouachita Parish health unit). The permit shall be for a period of one year.

(b)

All such work done by such person or persons shall comply with Chapter 13 of the Sanitary Code of the State of Louisiana. Violation of any provision of Chapter 13 of the Sanitary Code of the State of Louisiana by the permittee shall be grounds for revocation.

(c)

Persons engaged in emptying or cleaning sewage facilities must have a disposal area approved by the state health officer or his duly authorized representative.
