§ 16-31. Acceptance of parish to regular membership; school boards as associate members.

  • (a)

    The Ouachita Parish Police Jury shall be accepted, by vote, into the council as regular members thereof.

    (b)

    By the acceptance of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury as regular members [of] the Ouachita Parish School Board and the Monroe City School Board, authorized by its members, to accept membership into the Ouachita Council of Governments as associate members of such organization.

    (c)

    The president of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury, be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute all things necessary or proper in the premises in order to make the Ouachita Parish Police Jury a regular member of such organization and bind the Ouachita Parish Police Jury to participate therein.

Not expressly amendatory of the Code, Res. passed March 19, 1973, was codified as § 16-31 at the editor's discretion. Another resolution of the same date named two representatives of the police jury on the council, and designated the parish manager an alternate delegate.
